On February 20, 2012, the second annual Lundi Gras Parade will roll in Batchelor, Louisiana. This parade will be complete with costumed horsemen collecting chickens for a communal gumbo! There will be spectators following the riders in utility vehicles and wagons. All parade participants must register between 8:00am and 11:00am at the beginning of the parade route. The parade will start at the Country Junction at 11:00am on the levee with the riders collecting chickens along the way. The riders will continue through the Old River Campsites and will arrive around 3:00pm at Old River Landing. There will be a gumbo cook-off, greased pig contest, and Zydeco Music beginning at 3:00pm till 6:00pm. Awards will be given for all contest including best costumes. Music will be provided by “Mike Hurst and the Cut Point Band”. Any spectators, riders, horsemen, cooks are welcome!

Official Lundi Gras Rules:

• Lawn chairs are permitted on levee for Spectators

• Ice Chest are permitted. NO GLASS CONTAINERS

• No Underage Drinking Allowed.

• No Pets other than Horses, Pigs and Chickens

• No Fire Arms or Fireworks

• No Littering

Parade Participants:

• Must register before the parade. (8:00-11:00)

• Must have official parade permit posted on vehicle

• Parade begins at 11:00.

• All 3 or 4 wheelers, gas powered golf carts, and other ATVs must have a trailer or wagon with occupants attached.

• Electric golf carts are permitted without trailer or wagon.

Greased Pig Contest

Registration starts at 10:00

$2.00 entry fee

Waivers must be signed by an adult.

Participants might need a change of clothes for ride home

Gumbo Cook-off

Chicken and sausage Gumbo

20 quart minimum Gumbo must be prepared on site.

Must provide all bowls, spoons, napkins.

Can charge a reasonable price for gumbo
